Volunteer Opportunity: Harvest Fest - NEXT Saturday, October 18th - WE NEED YOU!

Hello,

We are in need of many Cottontail Rabbit parent volunteers to help facilitate our class sponsored Book Walk at NEXT Saturday, October 18th's Harvest Fest from 2:00 - 4:00.

We are in need of parents to volunteer to "run" the Book Walk for 15 minute increments.  Our Room Parent, Tundi Brady sent out information about this earlier in the week.  For your convenience, please use THIS link to sign up for a 15 minute sign up slot.  If you have already indicated a 15 minute time slot that you would like to work with Tundi, please let me know and I'd be happy to fill in that spot for you.  Tundi will do the same with any previous communication she has received.  Your help is needed in making this class sponsored activity a success!  Your 15 minute time slot can count towards your yearly volunteer hours.

Click HERE for more information on our Harvest Fest game.  Traditionally, many Festivals host "Cake Walks" but in true Willowwind School fashion, we have transformed this game into a "Book Walk"

To make this Book Walk successful, we are in need of MANY GENTLY USED BOOKS.  Please donate your unwanted, gently used books to Willowwind for the Book Walk.  There is a drop off bin in the Front Entryway.

There are many other ways to volunteer for this event.  Please click HERE to access our school wide Sign Up Genius Harvest Fest Volunteer Opportunities page.  Remember, the Sign Up Genius password is Giraffe.

Finally, our Burrowing Owl friends (grades 3/4) need our Harvest Fest help, too.  Please read the message below from them:

The Burrowing Owl class is organizing a food drive for people that do not have enough money to afford good food. We are collecting it for the food pantry supported by the River Community Church. We want to help the church help others, because they allow us to use their parking lot and building for special events. The food that we would like you to bring is anything canned, such as canned meat, soup, beans, chili, fruit, and vegetables. Please bring the food for the Harvest Festival on October 18. You can also bring the food anytime between October 16 and October 21. You may put the canned goods in the two bins in the entryway at the front of the school.  Thank you for helping those in need!
