This Week's Reading Fun

This short, but busy, week is full of reading fun. Please take note of this week's special reading events.

Usborne Book Fair - February 28-March 1
The Usborne Book Fair is here! Take a moment to look and shop the amazing selection of books. If your family raised money during our recent Reading Challenge a spending voucher went home in your child's Take Home Folder last Friday. Please look in your child's folder to find your family's bright orange voucher. Don't have a voucher? No worries, you can still support Willowwind's Book Fair by shopping the display of books located in the GD space. In addition, each child also took home information to further explain this year's book fair. Remember, Willowwind benefits from each dollar you spend! Come help stock your family's library and your child's classroom and school library. Thank you so much for your participation.

DEAR Day - Friday, March 3
In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday, this Friday Willowwind students will celebrate our love from reading by participating in a school wide DEAR time. DEAR stands for Drop Everything and Read which is what Willowwind students and teachers will do for an hour at 1:45. Just as Dr. Seuss would have loved, Willowwind students are invited to wear their pajamas to school for our DEAR day. Thanks to our recent achievement of our third Ticket Party, the Kindergarten class will also be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday throughout the morning with a viewing of either The Lorax and/ or Horton Hears A Who. Both movies are rated G, but please let me know if you have concerns about showing either film. In addition, no snack is needed as students will enjoy small yet yummy Dr. Seuss themed treats.

Finally, the Kindergarteners will be putting the final touches on our Our Community and Beyond Night presentation. If you have not RSVP'd for this event please do by TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 29th. A firm number count is needed to prepare for this event. Please RSVP Yes or No, either way, so I have a confirmed email with your family's plans. Thank you so much.
